The Scandinavian University

 

 

Emigration of the Arab youth to Europe and America had started decades of years ago. It was not an incidental phenomenon, but a fact which expanded on a geographical zone by time, till the percentage of the Arab emigrants was 12% of the total population of the Arab world. Those emigrants were separated in different Western societies, some of them achieved a notable success, and others failed to do so.

The role of the Arab communities (with its different denomination) was to preserve the Arab identity, despite the plight of double identity, Arab identity and the identity of the host country. During that a belonging status to sectarian, factional, and regional identities came out as an alternative to the Arab identity.

Although that communities form the cultural basis, they do not have any means or regular plans to invest the Arab emigrant's features, who have a scientific talent and experience, identity and language unify them, and the reason for that is the absence of the entity that gathered them and guide their compass.

Accordingly, a group of Arab businessmen established the Scandinavian University to be an Arab University with an official status registered in the Kingdom of Norway with No. 991504818. Its mission is to renew the Arabic and Islamic science and to re-present the Islamic civilization in order to keep pace with this time, to be the spring which irrigate the Arab roots in the west, and to invest the capabilities of its emigrants who where creative in various sciences, and then try to transfer this experience to the motherland i.e. The Arab Nation.

The feasibility study committee of the Scandinavian University project had faced the geographical diversity of the Arab emigrants, which extend on tens of countries and hundreds of regions, and they start to search for effective solutions in order to achieve the idea beyond the distance and to provide with non-traditional solutions.

The idea succeeded by the open-door policy through the e-learning, which combines distance education and open learning education as a flexible system that combines the achievement of benefit and follow-up to the most modern developments with an unprecedented quality standards in the e-learning market. We have committed ourselves to a set of red lines, thus, achievements will not reach aspirations, the innovation is a must, the doors of the scientific competition are always opened, and always, the cooperation with others is the way for success.

The Scandinavian University is not going to graduate a mere typical students, officials, and professionals, rather it is an establishment with an educational system, aims to come out with more innovators and creators to make the human resources in the Arab labor market effective rather than affected.

Therefore, the Scandinavian University will focus on engineering, physics, chemistry, geology, management, Islamic economic- as a successful environment-, and humanities in order to create authors and specialists in literature and arts. Since, from our point of view innovation is a combination of science and art; this is what we are seeking to give to our students by providing them with effective capacity.

Ph.D. holders from the Arab and Islamic civilization people had become much less than their Western counterparts, so we established this university by a visions of the future with strong rules taking advantage of globalization and its tools to achieve a universal education, going beyond borders and political obstacles.

Technological innovations, including Internet has helped us in building a modern university to be an international platform with an Arab identity, assembled everybody regardless of their identity, nationality, race, religion, rare specialties, art training, and the balance between science and humanities. Give an educational opportunities that equals and competes' the most sophisticated universities, and even keeps the universal values of education as the majority of educational institutions in the world. All that will make the educational methods and self-development skills as important tools to create generations who are able to make future planning and right decision-making in order to confront all the challenges and to provide humanitarian services.

Therefore, the Scandinavian University is committed to a policy of flexibility, in education and its electronic development, and in developing the distance education by an academic freedom that depends on decentralization within the framework of good morals, which promote respecting others, developing  the individual, paying  attention to the quality performance, and achieving the total quality.

All that aims to come out with graduates with high abilities to take the initiative and serve their communities effectively within concepts based on love, rejecting hate, and mutual cooperation.

The best definition for this architecture is: the Scandinavian University has an Arabic identity, global performance, and a Norwegian residence; it does not stop at the political borders (with all due respect) simply, because it was able to pass it.
